Boating & Watersports
Greenwood Lake features over 17 miles of shoreline lined with beautiful homes, swimming holes, establishments offering public docking and over 14 marinas. You could easily spend a day (or two) just enjoying Greenwood Lake. Check out Jersey Paddle Boards for rentals and classes. Or if motor boating is more your speed, Greenwood Lake Marina has a large rental fleet of pontoon or party boats to choose from. As an included amenity, The Waterstone Inn also offers guests beach passes for swiming at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, which is only ½ mile from the Inn.
Epic Hikes
You’ll find it hard to believe we’re just 50 miles north of NYC when you see the boundless beauty of our natural surroundings. Greenwood Lake’s East Shore is bordered by Sterling Forest’s 22,000 acres of preserved state land and along the ridge of the West Shore you can easily access the famed Appalachian Trail. Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain are also our neighbors.
World-Class Fishing
Enjoy fishing on site directly from the Waterstone Inn docks, or venture out into the lake. From Sunfish (Sunnies) to Large Mouth Bass, if you enjoy fishing you’ll enjoy Greenwood Lake. NYS license available at True Value Hardware (77 Windermere Ave. Greenwood Lake). For your convenience, the Waterstone Inn has fishing poles available for guest use.
Shopping
There’s certainly no shortage of shopping opportunities in and near Greenwood Lake. Less than 30 minutes from Waterstone Inn is the famous Woodbury Commons, or you could stay local with the multiple stores and markets. We have our own Greenwood Lake Garden and Farm Market, and the weekly Warwick Farmer’s Market just over the mountain.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Waterstone Inn is conveniently situated 10 minutes away from Mount Peter, the oldest operating ski area in New York State. Prefer a bigger mountain? Less than 30 minutes away you’ll find Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ.
Golf
Tucked between the mountains and farms of our area are some pretty spectacular public golf courses. Warwick’s Hickory Hill is just 6 miles from the Waterstone Inn, the Golf Club at Mansion Ridge is nearby in Monroe and just over the Warwick border in Vernon, NJ are a number of scenic greens.
