While the trees are bare and the weather is cool it’s the best time to go for a hike.

There are so many great places to hike in our area. Harriman state park is a short drive, the Appalachian trail runs straight through Greenwood Lake and one of our favorite places to hike is the Sterling forest visitors center. The visitor center allows for guests to choose from various trails with levels of hiking from easy to more difficult. The rangers also provide any information as well as a schedule of events they provide. The orange trail is one of our favorite hikes because it leads you to an overlook of Greenwood Lake. It’s not too difficult and has gorgeous views of the lake and mountains all around.
